Middle Schooling and Senior Secondary
Years 6 to 12
Learning is a life long process and curriculum access during periods of illness is important to enhance student well being and optimism. The teachers in the secondary classroom liaise with home schools, set challanging tasks to engage students in relevant learning and build positive relationships. The teaching team works with short term and long term patients, their siblings and out patients by negotiation.
Programming and planning using the mandated SACSA Framework and the Essential Learnings eg; Thinking, Identity, Communication, Interdependence and Futures ensures seamless learning opportunities for students while at HESS and during the tansition process.
