The Hospital Education Services work within the SACSA and SACE curriculum frameworks. SACSA The five Essential Learnings:
Essential Learnings form an integral part of children’s and students’ learning from Birth to Year 12 and beyond. They are resources which are drawn upon throughout life and enable people to productively engage with changing times as thoughtful, active, responsive and committed local, national and global citizens. The Learning Areas describe the span of development, knowledge, skills and dispositions that are associated with learning from Birth to Year 12. They describe the established and emerging bodies of knowledge as well as ways of knowing and doing and have been enriched by making the key elements of learning explicit. They encompass the breadth of learning through being interwoven with the Essential Learnings, Equity Cross-curriculum Perspectives and Enterprise and Vocational Education. From Birth to Age 5 the Learning Areas reflect the integrated nature of young children’s development. From Reception to Year 12 they are organised around 8 nationally agreed bodies of knowledge. SACE The South Australian Certificate of Education is the framework for senior secondary students to complete their final years of schooling. At present SACE is under review. For students within the Hospital Education Services close links are maintained through their school to ensure there is consistency in their curriculum access. |
